What tuning services does Baker Engineering offer?

Baker Engineering offers Dyno Tuning, Street Tuning, Startup Bench Tuning (GM only), Holley EFI Tuning, and Motec Tuning, all performed on-site in Nunica, MI.

What's the difference between Street Tuning and Startup Bench Tuning?

Street Tuning, starting at $450, fine-tunes the engine and transmission control modules of a running GM, Ford, or Chrysler vehicle to improve performance and drivability. Startup Bench Tuning, GM only and starting at $250, calibrates a GM ECU so a new or freshly built engine can safely start and run for initial shakedown testing.

Which vehicle makes does Baker Engineering's tuning cover?

Street Tuning covers GM, Ford, and Chrysler platforms. Startup Bench Tuning is GM only. Baker Engineering also offers Holley EFI Tuning and Motec Tuning for vehicles running those aftermarket ECUs.

Do I need to bring my vehicle to Baker Engineering for tuning?

Yes. Tuning services are performed on-site at Baker Engineering's facility at 17165 Power Dr, Nunica, MI. After purchasing a tuning service online, you schedule a time to bring your vehicle in.

What is the MPVI4 and do I need one for tuning?

The MPVI4 is HP Tuners' latest vehicle interface hardware, used for custom calibration, diagnostics, and data logging. It's sold separately from Baker Engineering's tuning services and is intended for customers who want to do their own tuning and data logging with HP Tuners software.

How much does dyno tuning cost?

Dyno Tuning pricing is provided by contacting Baker Engineering directly, since it depends on the vehicle and the scope of the tune.
